Social connections and health in older adults: Findings from the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing

Social connections play an important role in health and well-being across the life course. As individuals age, they experience a number of changes to their social networks due to life events such as retirement, children moving away, widowhood and so on. This talk focussed on two aspects of social connections, namely social isolation and loneliness, among older adults in England. The talk focussed on prevalence of isolation and loneliness in older adults, risk factors and associations with health’.
